Hi Kajea,
Yeah, you made me smile seeing your email.
I saw your post regarding the contest about wins but I don't have a client yet. (May pinagdadaanan lang ako since February this year).
Let me share with you my story.
I am 36 years old, married with a 2 year old son, and currently live in Paranaque with my husband and mother-in-law. It's my mother-in-law's house.
My only sibling/younger sister who was a public elementary teacher in our barangay in Bohol, also married with a toddler son and lived with my mom, had to resign from work to migrate to Australia.
My sister's husband is a Filipino (went to the same high school) and just got his Australian citizenship 2 years ago. It has been discussed in our family that they will be migrating and they finally migrated last February. My mom assured us that she is fine there alone in Bohol and that I will just visit her from time to time.
I thought I would be okay with that but then when my sister already left, I sooo miss my mom so much and there are nights I am crying.
I wanted to go home since February but I couldn't go since I have no income to buy a ticket and I don't want to ask for money from my husband and sister.
I stopped working in September 2019 for my pregnancy. So I have decided in February this year to work again but my husband was against it as no one can take care of my son and he wanted me to finish first studying Japanese Language and apply in a Japanese company afterwards..
As I assess myself, I would need another year to master the language which means another year with no income. So I said enough of this.
I prayed and asked for guidance and freelancing came to my senses in February. I can go home anytime as a freelancer and I don't need to ask permission from the manager.
I checked upwork and online jobs and made my account. A client from upwork emailed me wanting to have an interview for an Accounts Receivable position, US client.
I declined the invite and politely responded to the client. I realised working at night and a voice job is not doable as I have to take care of my son.
So I explored and found bookkeeping and checked youtube. That's where I found you and enrolled in your course. I saw other paid bookkeeping courses but I had this feeling that I'll be learning more in your course and I was not wrong.
I revised my upwork and online jobs profile based on the samples you gave. So far, I received 4 emails from different clients without even applying. Three (3) of these clients are pure accounts receivable/ collections and one (1) client- collections and bank reconciliation. All night shift.
I wanted to respond to the client who offers collection and bank recon in Xero even though it was night shift but my husband expected me not to work yet. So nothing happened.
It was time I talked with my husband (a week ago) and had a misunderstanding for a couple of days and finally napapayag ko siya.
Now, I can work night or day as approved by hubby. Prefers day though but not actively applying yet. I have a financial report na sa case 1 and working on Case 2.
Maybe my win for now is being noticed by clients.
Regarding my online profile now, I changed it temporarily so I won't be receiving any email as Accounts Receivable and will revise in a week or two and will apply na.
Sorry Kajea napakwento ako.
Salamat for reading.
Magka client din ako soon.
