This morning, I was scrolling through my gallery and found this picture.
This was me with my very cute son 5 years ago.
This picture reminds me of some good old memories.
Memories that I will always recall over and over again
not because everything was perfect back then,
but because it reminds me of how GREAT God is
And HE is always preparing great things for you.
Naalala ko pa noon..
My partner and I were renting a small apartment in San Pedro, Laguna.
I was working for an engineering company as an accounting officer in Santa Rosa while my partner was working for a manufacturing company near our apartment.
We just started living together as a couple with our son, Ichigo.
Sa totoo lang, life was not easy back then.
As a young couple who were just facing the new chapter of our lives, we had no idea what lies ahead.
But one thing is certain - we both want to give our son a bright future.
Nung mga time na yun, that one certain thing seemed impossible.
Bayad sa renta.
Bayad sa tubig.
Bayad sa kuryente.
Bayad sa kasambahay.
Budget sa pagkain.
Budget sa transpo.
Budget sa gatas.
Budget sa diaper.
At marami pang iba.
To be honest, mahirap maging mahirap pag nagsisimula ka maging magulang.
Kailangan mo kumayod, kailangan mo maging matiyaga.
Pero alam mo, tandang tanda ko pa, despite the financial struggles, we’re still happy.
Kahit simpleng kain sa Jollibee every pay day..
Pasyal sa Mall…
Bili ng simpleng laruan…
These simple things made us happy.
I was grateful.
Despite the struggles, I knew we’re still blessed.
But life has a funny way of working things out.
I was offered a job by my sister as a freelancer - Leads Researcher
Little did I know that this would be the start of something new..
I accepted my sister’s offer because na demotivate ako sa work ko sa corporate.
This was because of several reasons..
Mababang sahod (kulang sa gastusin sa bahay)
Nakakapagod na commute everyday
Masungit na managers
Matagal na promotion
Matagal na increase
At kahit anong pagsusumikap mo, minsan di pa din sapat to compensate your bills..
So I accepted the opportunity, it changed my life and the rest is history….
But to share with you some changes in my life, here’s a fraction of it:
I was able to buy a house for my family para di na kami magrent ulit.
I was able to buy a car for the convenience of my family
I am now earning 10 times more than my salary in the corporate world.
And most importantly, I am now helping other people to change their lives too.
So why am I sharing this?
From the picture I found in my gallery this morning and from the good old memories i recall from it, I want to share two lessons:
Lesson 1:
Always be grateful for the small things, the big things and everything in between.
God blesses those with grateful hearts.
Lesson 2:
When an opportunity knocks on your door, always be willing to take the leap.
You never know how life changing something could turn out to be.
After all, in the end, we only regret the chances we didnt take.
All the best,
Kajea
