And I truly believe that.
When the pandemic began, lots of my friends went through anxieties and depression.
COVID-19 was a shocking episode no one expected.
Lots of businesses shut down, people got laid off, cases were on the rise, and so many more.
It’s undeniable that we’re in a traumatic situation.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from those experiences, it is that mental health, just like physical health, should always be given importance and priority.
It is necessary that we take good care of our mind so whatever challenges we encounter, we can be prepared and get ready to face them.
So, to give you some tips, here are some simple activities you can do to boost your mental health:
1. Start your day with your favourite drink.
This is a proven tip for me. Whatever your favourite drink is, whether it is coffee, tea, or juice, make sure to start your day with drinking it. Studies show that drinking your favourite drink can help you relax your mind and improve your mood.
2. Do something you’re good at.
Another tip you may consider is doing something you are passionate about. Do you love painting? Do you love dancing? Do you love playing sports? Do you love listening to music? Playing instrument? Whatever it is, please make sure that you find time to do the things that you love.
3. Give something to someone you love.
Did you know that helping other people and giving something to them can also calm your mind. This is something I learned during the pandemic. We all know that lots of people were struggling financially when the pandemic happened. Helping them during those trying times is also a way to show your gratitude that you are blessed. Knowing that you are in a better place compared to thousands of people can lessen your anxieties.
4. Hangout with a friend
Finally, hanging out with a friend can also improve your mental health. Catching up with a friend doesn't have to be physical. Thanks to “video call” we can talk to our friend over a coffee or wine just to know how they are doing now. Despite my busy schedule, I always make time to catch up with my friends. This is a win-win situation. You and your friend can have a good mood and time to relax.
There you go! Those are the four simple tips I always practice and trust me, it really works.
Again, taking care of your mind means taking care of the world. Always remember that there are people who rely on and look up to you. Your mental health should always be given importance.
For those who are struggling right now, please know that there are people who support and believe in you. Take care of your mind and take your power back.
Love lots,
Kajea
