Sometimes people feel stuck in place.
There are times that we don’t think we can make forward momentum in our lives.
And honestly, it’s a tough position to be in.
Just like lots of people, I also felt trapped in my life once. Years and years of working and working but still nothing had changed.
It’s a heavy feeling.
It’s like you’re locked in a dark room. You try to move to find the way out but you can’t see anything. You’re lost.
But you know what, over the years, I realised that feeling stuck starts with our thoughts.
Sabi nga nila “nasa isip mo lang yan”
Well that’s true. If you think you’re stuck, you’re stuck. But in reality, you really are not. There will always be ways that you can move forward.
As long as you’re alive, breathing, thinking, and able to move your body, you can always find the way out.
Don’t know how to get started?
Ask yourself these questions.
Are you happy? If not, how can you change it?
This is one of the first questions that you should ask yourself. Does the situation you are in right now give you happiness? Or does it give you stress and frustrations. If yes, good for you. But if not, then think of ways on how you can change your situation. Trust me, there’s always a way.
Having a hard time looking for a client? There’s always a way.
Having a hard time dealing with your boss? There’s always a way.
Having a hard time saving money? There’s always a way.
Are you surrounded by supportive people?
This is another question you need to ask yourself.
Definitely, you’ll feel stuck if you’re surrounded by toxic individuals. If you feel like the people around you no longer value you as a person, you need to let go. You can’t develop yourself if you continue to let other people drag you down with them.
Toxic boss and co-workers? Leave.
Toxic environment? Leave.
I’m not telling you to look for a perfect environment or perfect people. Because there’s none.
But what I’m telling you is that if you think that the environment and the people around you are a hopeless case, then you must find the courage to leave and find your peace. There’s always a reason to start anew.
Are you working towards your short-term and long -term goals?
Feeling stuck also happens when there’s no direction. It’s definitely hard to move forward if there’s no point of destination. So make sure that you have your goals whether they are short-term or long term. Work on your goals and get the motivation you need to achieve them.
Finally…
Did you count your blessings today?
Self-development begins when you start to appreciate every single blessing you receive.
There’s always a bright side in life. You’ll feel stuck if you just focus on the negative things and events that are happening in your life right now. Blessings are given to us so we can use them to move forward. As such, make sure to count your blessings and appreciate each and one of them.
You are not stuck. It’s just in your head.
All you have to do is move.
Happy weekend,
