I found a place haven in freelancing.
At first, I didn't know it until the pandemic happened.
Sa year 2020 ko narealize na freelancing is where I belong in.
Just to give you a little background and history of myself, I spent most of my entire career in a corporate world. I worked as an accounting staff, admin, and bookkeeping position. Kahit anong position basta office work lang pinasok ko. I landed my first job in an accounting firm. I worked there for 10 months only and decided to resign due to personal reasons. Then, I applied again to another company but it only lasted for a year. From then on I kept jumping from one company to another. Meaningless to say, I was a member of NPO (No permanent Occupation)..hehe..
BUT WAIT --- it only changed until I came to work in amazing company as bookkeeper in 2019. I actually really wanted to stay there in a long run until on my 1st year in the company, dumating si COVID. As a result, I was forced to stop from working in 2020
During the lockdown days, me and my family were not financially ready. Naubos narin ang savings namin to provide the daily needs for my family. Without no source of income, I desperately try my luck looking for jobs online. That time it didn't matter what kind of job as long as meron akong work para may pang gastos sa bahay and most importantly pambayad ng utang. That's when I discovered Onlinejobs.ph.
After 3 months of applying online. Finally, I got my first work-from-home as an amazon product researcher.
Sobrang saya ko talaga and it was very fulfilling.
Pero sabi nga nila, kung wala kang passion sa work mo you will eventually get uninspired along the way. So what I did, during my free time I kept applying for any bookkeeping or admin work online since that's my line of work. However, applying for a bookkeeping position is not easy thing because mostly of the jobs posted in Onlinejobs.ph they need someone who is proficient in accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero.
Sad but true, I only have little knowledge about that accounting software. Although, there were some who responded to my application but I get rejected after the interview and hiring process.
Medyo nadiscourage narin ako to apply for the bookkeeping position kasi I was thinking that I will get rejected naman in the end. So I focused nalang in my amazon product researching.
Nevertheless, it became my hobby to watch tutorial videos about the QBO & Xero but not in enthusiastically way.
I was like listening and watching tutorial but not learning kasi to be honest I have been struggling understanding accounting software like QuickBooks & Xero. No matter how I try, I still get confused.
Moving forward in the year 2022, things have changed. As I was watching random youtube videos I came across Kajeas Free Tutorial Video. I've watched videos of her telling stories about her journey as a freelancer. I have been watching numerous success stories with other youtuber but
Coach Kajea's story hits differently. I don't know why but her own stories were very relatable. That's why immediately I subscribed to her YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
It was only in April of 2022 my birth month, I decided to take a chance in investing one of her courses
even though I had little left in my savings during that time.
Without any regret, I learned so from the course that's not available anywhere else. It's not just about the course but it's also about helping and inspiring other people who are struggling to get a bookkeeping client.
A month after and to my surprise, finally the "WIN" day has arrived!!!!
I got my first ever bookkeeping client!
I really did not expect it. I just couldn't contain my happiness.
It's an answered prayer. I am very grateful to Coach Kajea for the inspiration and telling us not to give up on ourselves.
As the old saying goes, "TRY AND TRY UNTIL YOU SUCCEED".
